2010-2011 Board of Directors
The purpose of the Board of Directors is to:
- Make plans for carrying out the ideals and the purposes of the TCDA.
- Provide for the general good and welfare of the membership at large.
- Transact such business as is referred to it by the TCDA in general session.
- Establish a contractual agreement with the Executive Director.
Interested in Serving on the TCDA Board of Directors?
Are you interested serving on the TCDA Board? We are currently seeking candidates for the office of Secretary, Middle School/Junior High Vice-President, and High School Vice-President. These elections will occur during the 2011 Convention, July 28-31 in San Antonio. If you would like to be considered for office by the Nomination Committee and Board, please submit your letter of interest including the number of years you have attended TCDA, a resumé highlighting achievements and leadership positions, and a head shot to the nominating committee chairman, Bob Horton, by May 1, 2011.

Amy Allibon is beginning her 22nd year of secondary choral education in Texas. She taught middle school for four years at Watauga Middle School in Birdville ISD and for three years at Crockett Middle School in the Irving ISD. She recently completed 12 years at Haltom High School in the Birdville ISD and serves this year as director at Birdville High School. Amy’s middle school and high school choirs are consistent UIL sweepstakes award winners and have performed three times for the Texas Music Educators Association Convention (1996, 2000, 2008) and for the American Choral Directors Association National Convention (2001).
Amy served TMEA in numerous capacities including Region Chair and All State Section Leader, and served TCDA as the High School/College Vice President from 2003-2005. She is the recipient of the 2002 Haltom High Teacher of the Year Award, 2003 James Whitehead Coca Cola Outstanding Educator Award, 2003 Outstanding Music Alumni from Texas Tech Award, and the 2008 Score-A-Goal in the Classroom Bayard Friedman Hero Award.
She has conducted all state choirs in Arkansas and South Carolina, and works frequently with region choirs in Texas and Arkansas. Amy obtained her Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University and her Master in Music, Choral Conducting, from Texas Tech University. She resides in Fort Worth with her husband, Rob.
